These film photographs were taken in the early morning hours of January 2022, at the moment when the first light of the day reached the summit of the Matterhorn. As the sun rose, its warmth touched only the very peak, turning the tip of the mountain into a brief, glowing ember against the cold blue of the sky. High above it, the moon lingered—still visible, almost waiting—holding its place as if to witness the mountain’s transformation into gold.
Capturing it on film preserved not only the landscape but the fragile tension of that fleeting moment.
These photographs were exhibited at PhotoSchweiz 23, Halle 550, from 6–10 January 2023.
