Topographie d’une amitié

with works by Donia Jornod, Jeremy Ratib, Eva Roth, Hassan Sandouka, Harlis Schweizer Hadjidj, Maya Sonderegger, and Schellinger Zaugg

Wartsaal Wipkingen
Dammstrasse 54, 8037 Zürich

Vernissage: Thursday, 4 September 2025

My contribution to the exhibition is rooted in two poems I wrote: Is there nothing ever last until forever? (2010) and The paradise of many summers (2025).

Through photography and moving images, I trace the contours of invisible topographies: gestures, glances, and the spaces between people.

These works are not literal illustrations of the poems but emotional and symbolic translations, reflecting on shifting dynamics between friends and lovers, the longing for closeness, although sometimes for the opposite, for the distance, and the silent compromises we make in the name of intimacy. They hold what language cannot; the unspoken things we share, the fragile hope that some friendships, like summers, might return, even if only in memory.

Come meet us at the vernissage! Thursday, 4 September, 18-20:00.
